In Hand surgery field rapid advances in digital and mobile technology is ever evolving and full of innovation. The role of the hand surgeon (and therapist) will change, as we incorporate some of these new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 3D and 4D technology into our daily practice. The introduction of any new technology should never replace the surgeon. No artificial intelligence or robot can fully substitute for the need of a human mind or touch. And no technology should be used without first passing the most stringent of regulations to ensure it is safe and does no harm.
